Työmatka osana turvallista työpäivää

🇫🇮 Suomeksi | 🇬🇧 English version below

Turvallinen työpäivä alkaa jo ennen työpaikalle saapumista ja jatkuu siihen asti, kun palaamme kotiin. Työmatkaan liittyy monia pieniä valintoja, joilla jokainen meistä voi vaikuttaa omaan ja muiden turvallisuuteen. Työmatkaturvallisuus koskee meitä kaikkia riippumatta siitä, kuljemmeko töihin kävellen, pyörällä, autolla vai joukkoliikenteellä.

Työmatka on osa turvallista työpäivää.

  • suunnittele reitti
  • valitse liikkumistapaan sekä säähän sopivat varusteet.

Matkalla töihin

Liikenteessä turvallisuus syntyy omista valinnoista ja muiden huomioimisesta. Puhelimen käyttö vie helposti huomion pois liikenteestä, joten liikkuessa tärkeintä on keskittyä ympäristöön ja turvalliseen etenemiseen.

Kuljitpa kävellen, pyörällä tai autolla:

  • keskity liikenteeseen

Commute as Part of a Safe Workday

A safe workday begins before you arrive at work and continues until you return home. Our daily commute involves many small choices that can affect both our own safety and the safety of others.

Commuting safety concerns all of us, whether we travel to work on foot, by bicycle, by car or by public transport.

Watch the video: Get to work safely. Get home safely.

A Safe Commute Starts at Home

Before leaving home, take a moment to consider the conditions for the day. Being in a hurry can easily increase risks. By allowing enough time for your journey, you can also start your workday more calmly.

Before you leave:

  • check the weather and road conditions
  • allow enough time for your journey
  • plan your route
  • choose suitable clothing and equipment for your mode of transport and the weather.

On Your Way to Work

Safety in traffic depends on the choices we make and how well we consider others. Using your phone can easily take your attention away from your surroundings, so when you are on the move, focus on what is happening around you and on travelling safely.

Whether you walk, cycle or drive:

  • pay attention to traffic
  • follow traffic rules
  • take weather and road conditions into account
  • keep a safe distance from others
  • avoid rushing and unnecessary risks
  • make sure you can see and be seen.

Work-Related Travel Is Part of a Safe Workday

During the workday, we may travel from one worksite to another or make other work-related journeys. Even on short trips, the same safety principles apply: plan your journey, consider the conditions and avoid rushing.

Be Prepared for Changing Weather Conditions

As autumn progresses, darkness, rain and slippery conditions can make commuting more challenging. Later, snow and ice bring additional risks. Follow the weather forecast and prepare for changing conditions in advance. If you travel by car, make sure your vehicle and tyres are in good condition. During autumn and winter, we will share more information about visibility, reflectors, winter tyres, slippery conditions and the use of anti-slip devices.

It is a good idea to prepare for winter conditions in advance. The LähiTapiola illustration above shows when winter tyres and studded tyres may or must be used.

Your Journey Home Is Also Part of a Safe Workday

After a workday, concentration may decrease and tiredness can affect how safely we travel. Allow enough time for your journey home. Pay attention to traffic and consider both your own alertness and the conditions around you.

By being prepared, paying attention in traffic and considering others, we can help ensure that everyone gets to work safely and returns home safely at the end of the day.
